Hot Issue of Snail Slime Cosmetics! In 1980’s, Bascunan Family in Chile started raising snails to provide them to France for food. It was amazing that small injuries or infections of snail keepers’ hands heal up quickly without leaving a scar and their hands get brighter and softer as time goes by. This led Fernando Bascunan, a dermatologist, carry out scientific studies to find that snail slime contains natural complex making the skin regenerated. This proves that snail slime makes damaged skin cells heal up without infections and helps recover damaged snail shell. The same principle applies to human skin.
Highly moisturizing and nutritive MISSHA Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Series has been developed to improve skin texture by containing full vital snail slime to prevent and recover skin damage while strengthen skin barrier to minimize skin irritation. (1)

This snail slime skincare item has a milky white colour and gel texture. It smells pleasantly like flowers and not at all like snail slime (which is surprising considering it is 40% snail mucus). This moisturizer has a soft matte finish, feels surprising light on the skin and doesn't make me oily! I've been using this cream morning and night for one week and I actually swear I can see an improvement on my acne scarring. I have no solid proof (I try not to take photos when my skin is icky because it makes me sad) so I will get back to you on that claim!

Would I Purchase This Product?
It's expensive, but I would actually purchase this product! I feel like I haven't said this in forever, but even though this product is near $70NZD. I really like the texture, scent, finish and results I've seen. My curiosity has also been piqued in relation to other snail slime products! ^.^

Review - Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation; 110

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about the Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation in shade 110! This is the lightest shade that Maybelline produced in their Fit Me range, and is actually quite pale and yellow toned, which is great for me of course! ^.^
This foundation comes in a short but chubby roll up tube, which is the perfect handbag size for touch ups. The key part of this foundation is the "Anti shine core" which is supposed to keep you shine free. I have moderately oily skin, so I was pretty excited when this popped up! This product was released in 2014 and I've had my tube for a wee while, but haven't gotten around to reviewing it yet.
The shade is quite pale and yellow toned, which matches my skin tone really well! This product is included in my super pale product swatches so you can click here to see how it compares to other shades of super pale products!
This product is really easy to apply, especially if you're in a rush! I simply run the stick over my skin, and focus on where I would like the most coverage to be. If you want higher coverage I would suggest using a brush to blend the product into your skin, if you want lighter coverage I would suggest using a damp sponge instead. I do have acne, so I feel like rubbing this little stick all over my acne is super gross, so i use a clean finger or brush to apply this stick to areas with acne to avoid cross contamination. Ick.
I found that this product had very light coverage. I could see all of my freckles and acne scars even though I used a domed kabuki brush to blend it in. You could build up the coverage, but it starts to look a little cakey.
This product claims that the "Lightweight powders in the anti-shine core instantly dissolves excess oil". I would like to disagree with that claim, because I find that this product actually has less oil control than my regular foundations. I can wear it for about 3 hours with no problems, but once I get past the 3 hour mark it's shine city.
Flattering.

What I Love
- Inexpensive
- Quite a good colour (a touch too dark)
- Easy and fast to apply

What I Don't Love
- I can't wear it for more than 3 hours without looking sweaty
- Unhygienic for people with acne
- I don't really think the anti-shine core does anything
Final Thoughts
I really didn't like this product. It was incredibly hyped up when it was first released, as the perfect contour and highlight stick (which I agree would be quite good if I could find a highlighter shade) but it fell really flat for me because I just can't wear it for more than three hours. I do find a lot of products that won't last more than three hours on my skin and it's really pointless to hold on to them all, so in this case, this product will go to a more loving home!

Have you tried this foundation? Did the "Anti-shine core" work for you?

Manicure Monday - Port De Bras

Hello Princesses!

Today I have some potentially very boring nails for you, but quite exciting nails for me! I was given this polish by my best friend forever and ever for Christmas and I absolutely love the soft muted lavender colour, but these are also my traveling nails, because I'm going to Taipei on Wednesday!
I'm planning on getting a couple of sets of fancy gel nails while I'm over in Taipei (because they do the best gel nails ever!) so I won't have any Manicure's posted in the month of Febuary, but the rest of my posts will still be updated along with a couple of little video's of what I get up to in Taipei! ^.^ I'm so excited!!

Fail Products - Olay Regenerist Specialty Cleanser

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about the Olay Regenerist Specialty Cleanser! This mechanical cleansing brush is said to be a much more affordable version of the infamous Clarisonic cleansers (which I have not yet trialled!) so why is it in my Fail Products review list?
I purchased this product at the start of 2014 with the intention to use it after I had finished my course of acne medication for a fair review. I (of course) then forgot all about it for a little while since I stashed it away so successfully, and only rediscovered it in October. This set cost me $40NZD when I first purchased it, although I think you can purchase these a lot cheaper now.
The set comes with a brush head, cleansing system, trail tube of cleanser and two disposable batteries. This isn't rechargeable like the Clarisonic is supposed to be, which makes it a little less environmentally friendly.
It's a good size for my small hands and has two pressable buttons. The top button is the power button to turn the device on and off, the lower is to slow the speed of brush rotation.
The brush head rotates like so. I realize that you can't really take much from this photo, but it's here anyway!

So why is this a fail product? Simply because it didn't do anything for my skin that my regular The Body Shop cleansing cloth ($8NZD) doesn't do. In fact, it feels worse for my skin than the cleansing cloth does because it really tugs at my skin, as in I can visually see my skin being tugged and it feels like I'm sandpapering my face. Having said that, I used this brush twice a week for a month and I saw neither positive nor negative results.

What I Love
- Inexpensive (in comparison to the Clarisonic)
- No negative impact on skin
- Easy to use

What I Don't Love
- Not environmentally friendly with disposable batteries
- No positive impact on skin
- Tugs skin excessively, potentially causing loss of skin elasticity (theory only)

Final Thoughts
I really disliked using this cleansing brush, it tugged at my skin and felt really rough and wrong to use. I haven't actually seen many negative reviews on this product so it could be that my skin is too sensitive, or that it just doesn't really work for me. It's a well priced product, so if it works for you then that's great! ^.^

Have you tried this product? Did it work well for you, or like me was it a complete failure?
